that decision. >> dana: a race walker at the capitol is harry reid. >> brian: 1897 is when olympics started and it began with wrestling. it's the ultimate character sport. you can be big or small. you have a place. if they take it away it's going to crush a sport beat up by title 9 in college. >> andrea: as a greek i'm offended they are trying to change the olympics. this is unfortunate for guys training for the olympics for a long time. this will hurt college sports and high school sports. what are you supposed to work toward? if you get rid of the super bowl, the ultimate goal. this is the goal for the guys. this is the wussificaton of the world. >> gregworld. >> bob: you need all these for modern petasiaon, who would you rather watch? >> eric: they took baseball out as well. leave wrestling in. every high school and college in country has a wrestling team. you need a mat. that is all you need. you don't have to have equipment and tons of insurance. >> dana: i think this is a war on short guys. this is a war on shorter guys. and from p.r. perspective, give them advice. donald rumsfeld is

this go? >> it goes to the u.s. senate and i think that harry reid should take it up. most voters do not believe that members of congress, the executive branch officials or the vice president deserve to have any pay increases this year. so it's a common sense measure and saves $11 billion over ten years given our fiscal situation. >> a lot of people look at $11 million over ten years with budgets of 3.5 trillion. it's a spit in the ocean. i understand it's a start but you're about making a statement. that if you're not getting the job done, you shouldn't get paid more for it but nancy pelosi talks about the dignity of your work and that this is essentially undignified. what do you say? >> part of the reason we have to do this is in response to her speakership, frankly. when she was making comments about obamacare that you have to pass the bill to find out what's in it, americans thought that process was undignified. so we're trying to change the way congress is viewed, trying to put ourselves out there, willing to sacrifice to show the american people we don't want to repeat the shen

and harry reid and the president himself have all said in the last few days we don't have a spending problem. this will hurt in places. at the end of the day it's unclear how much people will blame the president or the republicans for what. they think we have a spending problem. >> great thing about everybody wants, thinks ve a revenue problem. spending problem. this is great until it's their thing that got cut. my job or my social security or medicare or whatever the cut is. everybody thinking we have a spending problem until it happens. the cuts come and price to play and then we blame somebody. there is blame on both sides but that is the politics. >> bret: does it happen? >> i think there will be -- we have sequestration. >> does it happen? >> absolutely. we needed presidential leadership for 18 months to avoid this. the president is nowhere, never presented a plan. last week they asked in congress testimony what is the number attached to the president's plan and he said we have never seen a president plan. avoid it. >> thank you. coming up, sig, assigning blamer war crimes in syria. critical. because harry reid decided not to do full-on filibuster reform, he still has to get through the senate and with 60 votes. and on the house side, obviously, the same thing applies. now that john boehner has broken the rule, that he's willing to move bills through with democrats as well as republicans, he still needs to hold together enough democrats so you don't see them walk away with some of these ideas. the main thing that the president has going for him is not so much the party unanimity. they are almost sort of left out in the cold because the establishment is pushing them back. they no longer have an interest in them. they want them to sit down and be kwooit because they're embarrassing them. >> five days before the state of the union address and the president seems to have done well pushing forward on his agenda. got passed the fiscal cliff. immigration front and center. gun control ledge slax and everyone some bipartisan group members of congress coming together on that. it looks as though he's been able to, in some ways, get them to soften on some of their hard posit

, republicans, well, they couldn't wake to take out senate majority leader harry reid. but of course reid survived the challenge from tea partier sharron angle. let's remember, senator mcconnell said his number one priority was to make president obama a one-term president. let's turn to adam green tonight, co-founder of the pccc whose organization has taken out an ad against mitch mcconnell. this ad, adam -- good to have you with us tonight. this slick ad from american crossroads, doesn't it show how seriously republicans are taking judd as a possible candidate? your thoughts. >> it definitely shows that. and after karl rove's 1% win record in 2012, if i were ashley judd, i would be feeling pretty good right now. the law of average says if karl rove spends money attacking you in ads, you're probably good to win. >> how significant would a mcconnell loss to be? your organization has taken out an ad. and if you look at the poll numbers of mitch mcconnell in kentucky done right now done by one of the local newspapers, only 17% say they're going to vote for mcconnell. 34% say they plan to vot

be a complete victory over barack obama and harry reid. and some republicans say just let the sequester happen, let the cuts happen. he says it is understandable because going to the trouble of fixing the sequester would be fixable, and the effort to do so would create strains in the republican congress. but what is understandable is not always responsible, allowing the sequester to go into effect would be deeply irresponsible. steve, deeply irresponsible has never been a winning argument with the house republicans. it has never scared them. >> but i guess, this is an interesting division in the republican party with the rise of the tea party. because the republican party has traditionally been the protector of the defense contracts. there is a conservative part that says to heck with them, we're in favor of big sweeping cuts but we're also okay with big sweeping cuts to the defense department. then you have big crystal, john mccain even floating the idea maybe he would be okay with more revenue as long as it meant getting the revenue off the sequester. the interesting thing here, march one is
